In Foshan Customs,there has an activity of walking through the Tongji Bridge during the Lantern Festival. On this day, every family will walk through the Tongji Bridge from North to South with winnower, windbell as well as the lettuces from morning to the evening for the purpose of praying for safety and happiness.
More than about 200 years , this custom have already extended from generation to generation. And it also have an old saying “When you walking through the Tongji Bridge you will be good luck all the year”.
