




合成生物学是二十一世纪初新兴的生物学研究领域,是在阐明并模拟生物合成的基本规律之上,达到人工设计并构建新的、具有特定生理功能的生物系统,从而建立药物、功能材料或能源替代品等的生物制造途径。中国科学院院士邓子新认为:“在合成生物学已处在全世界蓬勃发展的历史性机遇面前,探讨在我国开展合成生物学的研究对象与最佳切入点,发展和建立合成生物学新理论、新方法及相应的技术支撑体系,这对提升我国现代化生物技术水平、抢占合成生物学研究制高点有极大的意义。”
