With the quick development of China’s internet-driven economy, especially that of cross-border e-commerce, China-Chile cooperation has entered a new stage of rapid growth in all aspects. Sonami (Sociedad Nacional de Mineria) delegation visited JUMORE Beijing Office on Oct. 30th, and had fruitful discussions with JUMORE Chairman Lu Hongxiang on e-commerce purchase, technology cooperation, and financial leasing relevant to the mining industry.

JUMORE has maintained close cooperative relations with Chile, and reaped many achievements. This year, witnessed by President Michelle Bachelet, JUMORE has signed a MoU with Banco de Chile, and with SNA (Sociedad National de Agricultura) BDP Business Platform. Prior to the signing ceremony, JUMORE was invited to meet with Former President Eduardo Frei of Chile, and discussed cooperation with multiple important Chilean institutions and companies, including Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sonami, Cochilco (Comision Chilena del Cobre), and SNA. As of now, Chile National Pavilion has been successfully launched on UMORE platform, and two parties has taken active measures to cooperate in agriculture, finance, and mining. The visit of Sonami delegation to JUMORE aims at further enhancing the all-dimensional cooperation between JUMORE and Chile in mining, helping the companies affiliated to Sonami effectively connect to the companies on JUMORE platform, and thus connect to Chinese and global markets.
During the meeting, Sonami delegates discussed with JUMORE Chairman Lu Hongxiang in detail about the cooperation to export Chilean mining resources, purchase materials, connect upstream and downstream companies, and mineral extraction technology via JUMORE platform. Sonami delegates said that they wished to set up the cooperation with JUMORE as a sample for Chilean companies to learn from. In the meantime, they highly acknowledged the development prospective of JUMORE, and mentioned that Sonami will actively promote its affiliated companies to join the platform.
China is the most important copper consumer in the world, which consumes about 50% of the total copper production of the world. And Chile, the most important copper producer of the world, is known as “the kingdom of copper” and counts for nearly 30% of the total copper production of the world. Chile is the biggest copper supplier of China. Aside from copper, Chile also has abundant reserves of gold, silver, and molybdenum, which are all indispensable metal materials for the economic development of China. It is fair to say that mining will still be the key field for China-Chile trade cooperation in a long time. The cooperation between JUMORE and Chile will not only promote mining business between China and Chile, but also encourage Chilean mining companies to accelerate their production capability optimization and structural adjustment. At the same time, JUMORE platform has pooled enormous amount of financial resources, which can help Chilean companies to quickly connect with Chinese capitals, and enable Chinese capitals to extend their reach to the extraction and producing stage of minerals.
It is worth noticing that, with the deepening of the “Belt & Road” Initiative of China, the scope of China-Chile cooperation will be further expanded. JUMORE will also take advantage of the internet to further encourage Chinese and Chilean companies to enhance their cooperation, and thus truly benefit from the global cooperation.
