While the Thanksgiving holiday is all about gathering together with family and friends, cooking up a storm, and—of course—giving thanks, sometimes the thing we're most grateful for is the time just after the festivities, when a well-deserved moment of calm offers the opportunity to indulge. For many of us, a favorite post-holiday beauty ritual is the perfect way to relax and recharge. With that in mind, we asked six stylish women to share the hair, skin, and body treatments they swear by to recover.
"For Thanksgiving this year, I'm hosting twenty people at home in Los Angeles. Because my new beauty destination STRIIIKE opened the week before the holiday, my amazing extended family has kindly offered to do most of the cooking. I will still make the turkey, of course, and a warm, inviting cocktail to start the feast off right, like a hot spiced spiked cider with cinnamon liqueur. After the busy social weekend is over, I plan on retreating to my bathroom because we just added a steam shower. I love to steam! I add an essential oil blend of citrus and lavender and just sit and sweat for a good ten to fifteen minutes, then follow with a cold rinse. It zaps and recharges you instantly."
"This year, I'm driving down to Davidson, North Carolina, with my husband to spend Thanksgiving with his family. I just love a good road trip. Following the festivities—including pumpkin pie, homemade moonshine, and a real Carolina BBQ—I like to pick up some Goe Oil from the Poole Shop, which is one of my favorite shops in Charlotte. 'Goe' is short for Garden of Eden, and it's the most amazing moisturizing treatment—a combination of 28 plant, fruit, and flower oils and butters that you can use anywhere, including your hair. I love to unwind with a bath and cover myself in it."
"For the holidays, I am going to Half Moon resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, with my whole family for the fifth year in a row. It's been so cold in New York City and I’ve been working outside a lot on shoots, so as soon as we land, I am going to get my skin beach-ready with Drunk Elephant's exfoliating JuJu bar with thermal mud and marula oil and Jo Malone's Vitamin E Body Treatment Scrub. We usually go to the Sugar Mill restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner so that my husband can get his turkey fix, but for the rest of the trip we eat fresh grilled fish and quinoa, schedule massages for every other day, take yoga classes at the beautiful outdoor studio, swim laps in the pool, and play croquet or golf. We both like to be really active so there's not a lot of lying on the beach in our family!"

"Thanksgiving for me usually begins days in advance, because all the cooking I like to do for the holiday meal—fresh baked pies, sweet potatoes, stuffing—means I have to start preparing early. The next day, I am usually exhausted, so I try to keep the Friday open to pamper myself and hike with my dog and girls in the Santa Monica Mountains behind my house. Afterward, I like to come home and take a hot bath. I have been making my own bath salts, called Sea Siren Bath Crystals, using a rejuvenating and detoxifying mix of pink Himalayan and Bolivian rose salts, blended with my special oil essences, for a soak that revitalizes me. I also like to make my own face mask with manuka honey, rosewater, and oats. I leave this on while I make a cup of chai tea using rooibos, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger, with a dash of fresh pumpkin seed milk to rebalance the hormones and replenish the body with minerals. It is crucial to give back to ourselves after expending so much energy."

"If I haven't completely passed out on the sofa after putting the kids to bed and the kitchen clean-up, a very hot mustard powder bath sounds super nice after Thanksgiving dinner. I usually do one a week and they're very cleansing. The powder is sold at Whole Foods, as well as the wonderful natural beauty site CAP Beauty. My self-maintenance to-do list also includes hitting a core-toning and strengthening class post–Thanksgiving feast at The Dailey Method. They have a studio a few blocks away from me, and I find that proximity to workouts (especially during the holidays) is the number one—if not the only—factor in keeping up with one's regimen."

"It's been a few years now that a group of all female friends—some with children, some without—and I have been getting together for Thanksgiving. We forego the super traditional spread for some feel-good, taste-good, laid-back Californian festivities. Even though it's a low maintenance production, the day is still spent on my feet cooking, cleaning, and entertaining children, so the thing I most look forward to afterward is some holiday downtime. I always have a lot of almond pulp left over from the hot golden milk (using sprouted almonds and turmeric) that I like to make for Thanksgiving, so my holiday ritual is to mix up a cleansing skin scrub with that pulp, some coconut oil, and chunky pink Himalayan salt. I love this treatment around the holidays, as it's usually a time when there is a change in the weather and my skin is dry. It exfoliates and moisturizes and it's also a great way to use up leftovers. It's my version of the turkey sandwich."
