Each tulou is a massive tome encompassing the Hakka people’s “Family Instructions”, cultivating every Hakka individual. Generation after generation, the Hakka people have been blessed by tulou, which serves as an impregnable fortress, blocking the horrors of war and keeping out the worldly distractions. Ever since the moment when I fell in love with you, I have been obsessed with the dream to keep you by my side.

It has been ten years since tulou’s application for the list of world heritage. In commemoration of such a historic moment as well as the perseverant spirits manifested in the 15 years of cultural innovation road, and harboring the yearning, obsession and veneration for tulou deep in our hearts, our admiration for Hakka culture is blended in “Tulou Dwellers”. Hence, the Tulou Dwellers umbrella with cultural innovation is meticulously designed for tulou, for the Hakka culture, as well as for the family members. It is our sincere wish that the umbrella will protect you against wind and rain and escort you safely on your way home, like the guardian tulou.

“Tulou Dwellers” has enjoyed five years of development, during which, the rigid art of umbrella is embracing a renascence with the ingenuity and inventive minds. The architectural marvel which reflects the Hakka people’s emotions meets “Tulou Dwellers” whose emotions are attached to umbrellas, the creation of which has undergone continuous designing, negation, and unremitting reconstruction. Meticulous efforts are invested in the design of the umbrella and elaborate attention is paid to the trivial aspects. Great achievement comes from trivial matters, and perfection is achieved from details. The common features of tulou and our umbrellas lie in their cultural connotations: creativity is attached to the life with culture as the core and inheritance as the framework. By integrating the world heritage culture and Hakka cultural elements into this unique umbrella, it is to our great surprise that they are perfectly mixed together with wonderful and shiny new characteristics.

The umbrella surface is painted with the tile eaves of tulou under the sky that have gone through all the vicissitudes of life, being it a true-life sketch, or freehand ink wash painting. The tile eaves is the soul of the tulou locals who have withstood the challenges through thousands of years and have witnessed the profound tulou culture accumulated over centuries. It is our hope that this unique sentiment and spirit of the craftsman will cultivate the plain but graceful “Tulou Dwellers”, which will flourish all across the globe.

With endless pursuit for an extraordinary breakthrough and breaking away from the chains of current cliché status, we are exerting every ounce of our efforts to become a unique cultural disseminator. Our team is a combination of the calmness of the post-60s, the intelligence of the post-70s, the innovation of the post-80s and the originality of the post-90s. Blessed with creative minds, remarkable dreams, rich histories and spirits of sharing, our team spares no effort to design an umbrella of Tulou Dwellers style and to consummate the lofty dreams of Western Fujian people, via 1789 days and nights of repeated refinery, polish, perfection and optimization.

所以，我们愿意用伍年时间打造一把极具韵味与生命力的“土楼人家”晴雨伞，“每处细节都是千锤百炼的成果，伞从古至今都不单作为遮阳避雨的对象，而被赋予了文化内涵和生活意味。
We draw our inspirations from Hakka tulou in Fujian, which are our team’s original intention as well as the honor to create the umbrella. From our perspective, umbrella is not only a common piece of daily commodity, but also a cultural symbol. Like a living fossil, the umbrella enjoys a long history and has been witnessing the human civilization and inheriting national culture for thousands of years in both the East and the West. Hence, we are willing to spend five years designing a “Tulou Dwellers” umbrella integrating appeal, charm and vitality. Every detail within this umbrella is thoroughly devised and modified. Throughout the whole history, the umbrella has never been simply used as the tool for shading the sun and keeping out the rains, instead, it has long been bestowed with cultural connotation as well as the meaning of life.

Within 15 years of perseverance, only by staying true to the mission can we overcome all obstacles on the path of reaching for our dreams, and only by staying true to the conscience can we offer the perfect quality product. “Five years for one umbrella, all efforts are paid only for you” — with our umbrella in your hand on your way back home, it is our wish to make our humble efforts for promoting and developing the culture embedded in application for the list of world heritage and inheriting the Hakka people’s spirits. We are looking forward to offering you a small cozy space under the umbrella among the hustling and bustling of large crowds, within which you can freely mediate on the meanings of life, wherever you are in this vast world.
