What makes this vase distinctive is the deliberate opening along its front. Instead of concealing the split, the designer chose to emphasize it by threading natural rattan strips through a series of small openings, gently drawing the two sides together. The horizontal rhythm of these ties creates a visual language reminiscent of laced garments or corset structures found in historical dress—where cords both secure and decorate the form.
