The fin stabilizer ‘Flapped fin with Fish Tail’ independently developed by HUNTER MARINE Equipment Co. Ltd. won the Excellent Invention Patent Award issued by the China Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry Intellectual Property Alliance, and was successively reported by official media such as China News Network, China Ship News, etc.

Usually the stabilizer fin adopts a symmetrical airfoil, which uses the hydrodynamic lift generated by the fin to work, and the greater the fluid lift provided by the fin, the more conducive to reducing the roll of the boat.
The new flapped fin with fish tail, which won the Invention Patent Excellence Award this time, is an independent innovation and research and development of HUNTER MARINE on the basis of the original type. Under the condition of not increasing the weight and volume of the equipment, the lift coefficient of the airfoil is increased, so as to improve the ability of the fin stabilizer.
The flappedfin with fishtail includes the main wing and the flap, and the tail of the main wing is hinged with a flap. The flap can swing around the pivot fixed in the main wing, and the flap airfoil and the main wing airfoil correspond to each other, and the transition from root to tip is smooth according to the set law from large to small.

To meet the requirements of the rolling reduction effect, it is usually restricted by many factors such as the layout of the inner and outer vessel space, weight, economy and so on, and it is impossible to increase the fin area indefinitely. Through scientific demonstration and careful research, HUNTER MARINE decided to adopt the most scientific method of increasing the lift coefficient of the fin, changing the pressure distribution on the surface of the fin, so as to improve the lift of the fin, and finally successfully developed a new type fin in the world, which further strengthened the family tree of ‘HUNTER MARINE’ marine roll reduction, and contributed new wisdom and strength to the development of the global shipbuilding and shipping industry.
