In Indonesia, artisans begin with clay and work through wheel-throwing, firing, and hand-finishing, allowing each piece to take form through time and repeated contact with the hands. Details are intentionally left imperfect. Traces of wheel-throwing and hand-finishing remain at the rim and surface, while the interior clay appears slightly darker, adding depth. This restraint allows the vases to function both as objects in space and as vessels for everyday use.
