On January 29, ‘GNV・Aurora’, the fourth vessel of the MSC/GNV luxury ro-pax ship with 1,800 passengers and 2,800-meter lane, a large modern green dual-fuel vessel tailor-built by China State Shipbuilding Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for GNV, a subsidiary of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), was named and delivered in Nansha, Guangzhou. Hunter Marine was invited to attend the ceremony.
GNV・Aurora
‘GNV·Aurora’ is a large export-oriented ro-pax vessel independently developed, designed and built by Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), with full independent intellectual property rights. The ship has an overall length of 218 meters, a moulded breadth of 29.6 meters, a moulded depth of 10 meters, a design draught of 6.45 meters, a gross tonnage of about 52,900 GT, a deadweight of approximately 8,000 DWT, and a design speed of 25 knots. As the grand finale of this ro-pax series, the successful naming and delivery of the fourth vessel is of great significance. It marks the successful completion of the two core projects (16,000 TEU container ships and ro-pax vessels) jointly carried out by Guangzhou Shipyard International and MSC.
