At Marintec China 2025, the rotor sail independently developed by Shanghai Hunter Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. became the focus. Hunter Marine highlighted its original "sail +" integrated solution, which provides a new path for low-carbon ship operation through multi-technical integration and intelligent control.

During the R&D phase, Hunter Marine established an aerodynamic load model that closely approximates the actual marine environment, relying on high-precision numerical simulation and large-scale wind tunnel tests. The team systematically verified the performance data under different wind speeds, wind directions and navigation states through a domestically leading wind tunnel test platform. This provides accurate support for the structural design and control system of the rotar sail, ensuring high reliability and stability of the product under complex sea conditions.

The core advantage of Shanghai Hunter Marine Equipment Co., Ltd.'s rotor sail lies in its integrated service covering "rotor sail - anti-drift fin - intelligent navigation - energy efficiency management". The anti-drift fin device can suppress over 90% of wind-induced drift, ensuring course stability; the intelligent navigation system dynamically optimizes routes based on AI algorithms and real-time meteorological data to maximize wind energy utilization; the ship-wide energy efficiency management module coordinates and regulates the power distribution between the rotor sail and the main propulsion system, achieving overall energy conservation.
At present, this solution has developed into a series of products with diameters ranging from 3 meters to 5 meters and heights from 18 meters to 35 meters, suitable for ship types such as bulk carriers, oil tankers and ore carriers. The measured fuel saving rate reaches 5% to 25%, and the investment payback period is less than 5 years.
