We benefited a lotfrom buildings, artificial fur and various kinds of non-woven products. At the same time, we concern about their performances. For example, are they fire-safe?
We can be reassured to use those items that seem to be flammable, thanks to the invention of flame retardant．Flame retardants are compounds added to manufactured materials, such as plastics and textiles, and surface finishes and coatings that inhibit, suppress, or delay the production of flames to prevent the spreadof fire. They may be mixed with the base material (additive flame retardants) or chemically bonded to it (reactive flame retardants).
BASF will showcase Flamestab®NOR 116, a novel flame retardant solution particularly suitable for polyolefin thin sections, at Chinaplas 2014. Providing good flame retardency at very low dosages, FlamestabNOR 116 meets many different flame resistance standards, including FMVSS 302, DIN 4102,UL 94 VTM, and NFPA 701.
Flamestab NOR 116 canbe used during the melting stage, and does not have a negative effect on light stability. Applications for Flamestab NOR 116 include artificial turf, waterproof roofing membranes, and non-wovens.
