Today, we tell you a true story of love
...a love of a different kind.
The love for humanity.

It was July of 2020...
and Bloodline was called upon for help.
David Green, a father of two
and a loving husband
would suddenly discover that his life
was about to change forever.
He was diagnosed with a blood disorder.
...and it was in the middle of an epidemic
where blood was in short supply.
Over the next few months,
he would need to gather
all the strength and support
from not only his loved ones: his family and friends;
but also from strangers.
And those strangers would turn into friends
And in his battle against cancer,
new challenges would be encountered,
new bonds would be created and
new definitions would be written.
People that never met each other in the past,
would come together to make a miracle happen...
...for the LOVE of humanity.

This is his story in his own words:
It was in July of 2020 that I began to get treatment for a blood disease that had been slowly overtaking my blood production system to the point that only 4% of my bone marrow was functioning. A terrible time for anyone to be in the hospital with the pandemic raging globally and locally, I was at a point of incredible fragility and uncertainty. The Shanghai blood banks were
severely depleted and, without blood support needed during treatment, I would be facing a life-threatening situation.

Now, 7 months later, I am clear of the cancer that attacked my system and I’m getting stronger on my system’s own power. But I did not do it on my own. I cannot imagine how different the outcome may have been if I did not have the support of Bloodline. Activating a blood drive for my cause, Bloodline gave me the critical support I needed and literally saved my life. By inspiring and organizing donations of over a hundred willing blood donors, Bloodline helped to take my health from strength to strength.
Additionally, every unit of blood donated by the generosity of caring people - some who knew me, but many who did not - would go on to help other people in similar or worse conditions than myself. Knowing this gave me a happiness that I cannot begin to describe.

The idea of giving blood might seem like you’re just giving to an institution. I can tell you from my heart that your donation goes toward saving a life like mine. Knowing this will be your own happiness and you will have my eternal gratitude.

Please give now if you can.
Fewer people are giving during these days of the pandemic, but the need is
just as great as ever. Bloodline makes it easier by taking away some of the mystery with professionalism and care. Friends who gave for me said that, after experiencing the joy and ease of giving, they plan to go again.

Bloodline wishes David and his family a very happy and healthy future!

Bloodline is a community that supports awareness about the importance of blood donation and advocates the regular donation of blood. Bloodline also connects donors and recipients during the time of emergent need in special scenarios.
In summary, Bloodline strives to become a virtual blood bank for this community. Bloodline has already conducted several successful blood drives as well as created a network of individuals who are available for the community and for each other in times of emergent requirements of blood, thus having saved several lives.
The journey continues...
