The prologue:

When the COVID-19 epidemic ran rampant in the streets of Wuhan and subsequently 

overflowed to the surrounding regions,  Shanghai did its part in all sincerity and the 

residents folowed likewise. 

People stayed at home… anxious, worried, perturbed… checking on different media 

portals, looking for some hope...praying, hoping…

As blood donor numbers dwindled, city blood supply levels were compromised to a signioficnat level. The outbreak of COVID-19 was on such a huge scale that none of us had even remotely imagined this scenario even at the beginnng of 2020.

COVID-19 was killing poeple directly and indirectly: for that child with leukemia, for that 

father who was bleeding after a road traffic accident, for that new mother who was bleeding after child birth, life hung at a delicate balance due to low supplies.

Shanghai Blood Center did its utmost part to balance blood supplies.

This is when Bloodline decided to contribute.

We joined hexagons to build a heart to symbolize our love for this city during this 

critical time.

Remember, this was a time when no one ventured to come outdoors. An invisible enemy was present everywhere. An element of feared lurked around every corner.

And yet, BLOODLINE blood donors came out in turns, braving the risks of COVID--19, as they bonded together to buid and grow a heart: a symbol of their love for the city they loved.

From Feb 17 onwards, the heart started to grow and now is overflowing with love (with hexagons overflowing the originally intended spaces).

The Afterlogue:

This HEART symbolizing our love, in every drop of our blood, direct from our hearts will be printed out on a large board and gifted to the city of Shanghai through Shanghai Blood Center.

In good time and bad times...

...together, we are BLOODLINE.
