WOW. I didn’t even realize until after I had my first phone call this morning, but guess what?
It’s the actual 1-year celebration of cukimber.
On June 22nd, 2019 we had our opening party. How time does FLY!

My dream of becoming a fashion designer became true just a year ago. It’s taken some time to even get used to the shock that all of it happened so quickly. Can you imagine opening up a no-name brand shop in Xintiandi next to Yohji Yamamoto and Jason Wu? Well, that’s what actually happened.
It hasn’t always been so happy as this opening day as June 22nd, as this year has been challenging. I am reminded that I can’t be with my parents, who came all the way to support me from New Jersey through this time. I am reminded of the fact that the original plan was to have been back in the US already to have a fashion line launch in New York. I am reminded that my friends and family in the US are still struggling. I am grateful for where I am, but of course, being a woman of action, I had to do something.
One friend in particular, who I will just call Sunshine, became an ER doctor in Mt. Sinai. She actually treated the very first COVID patient in New York City. I wanted to do something to let her know that I cared for her, so I took the remaining pieces of fabric I had and I got to sewing.
I sent the first package of cukimber surgical caps and masks over with a Box of Niosh masks over to Mt. Sinai to thank them for their service.
In celebration of this, we would like to put the last call out before a second shipment heads to the US. They are 120RMB for Hat + Mask and you can send us a message to include. They are heading to a hospital frontline worker.
