Event Recap: 5/14 “6 Secrets to Success”

This Tuesday I spoke at the 4th Anniversary of Lizzy’s where I was asked to share one of my keys to success. 

Within the past year I have been busy in mornings, evenings, weekends, and especially long weekends with cukimber, building on the earrings I had been designing for the past decade expanding into production of crazy colorful clothing. Made from my own paintings, I created bespoke textiles and you can guess the rest. I am still in the early stages of perfecting all the finer details of my creations, but I am now at a point where my creative pursuits are finally front and center. 

Success is such a big word. It is defined by each person differently, and my every success is remembering my dreams are, and taking actions to fulfill them.

Thank you to Lizzy for inviting me, and for all other female leaders that I got to share the stage with. 

I left super inspired, and wanted to share some of my takeaways: 

1. Your body will tell you when you’re headed in a wrong direction - This was a common one in the stories - that living untrue to yourself or driving yourself too hard is always going to have consequences. Slow down and make sure you take care of yourself. 

2. Emotional Intelligence improves a company’s bottom line, and if that doesn’t come naturally to you you’re soon to be behind in your leadership style. 

3. Bundle your goals to achieve them in a community - No Sugar, more greens? Do it with your family so you can keep each other accountable and talk everyday! 

4. Every “mistake” or challenge you face is a huge learning and not a loss - take every opportunity and extract a full education out of it, you never know when it can help you in the future. 

5. Be a Human Being, Not a Human Doing - You shouldn’t be defined by what you do, rather who you are. Make sure you take the time to get to know the beautiful person that is you.
