Q: Hey!!! So, let’s start with the most basic question –what brought you to Shanghai?
K: I have spent most of my last 8 years in Shanghai building healthy restaurants in China, but concurrently, I had been designing jewelry for over 10 years. It was my hobby business.

Q: Restaurants…to Fashion? Wait…do you mean to say that cukimber only began last month? Why?
K：Yes, I am a really passionate and action oriented person…and I like to fulfill my dreams. Healthy restaurants were a dream realized, and now fashion is the next.

What happened was is that I just…have the belief in myself that anything is possible. This thinking just made the process pretty easy. Around 2 years ago I started out by painting constantly.
When I got to a certain point, I saw “it” - a painting that I knew was going to look great as fabric.
Things just naturally progressed, and I produced my first collection which you see now in Xintiandi Plaza until August 2nd.

Q： Where do you draw your inspiration?
K：After I kept practicing painting and color composition, the designs just kind of flowed out of me.
I have always loved playing with colors, always looking for what makes me happy.
That is why I felt I had to share the artwork and the pieces because I want everyone to feel that happiness when they wear the clothing. I want cukimber to always be Colorful, Fresh & Fun, just like I live my life.

Q：What kind of a woman wears cukimber ?
K：A bold lady, because my designs are very eye-catching anddistinct. They are confident, and chasing their dreams too!
