Covid-19 has most certainly upended plans for everyone this year, and most certainly for cukimber. I had been making plans to return to New York and have a fashion line debut there this spring in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles.
I had returned to China 2 weeks before the borders closed to actually clean up my apartment, ship inventory, and close my company. Instead, because of the unfolding of the virus in the US, I made the decision to stay in China for the next coming years.
I worked on assisting friends fulfill PPE, and shared a lot of my life and process of getting back to China. It was specifically to help friends who were dealing with what we in China had dealt with months earlier. A dear friend of over 20 years treated the first official Covid-19 case in New York City.
Her middle name is actually Sunshine so I wanted to celebrate and thank her to let her know that we are all in this together. In honor of her I have made masks and surgical caps.
