The Baihetan (Sichuan) – Zhejiang DC ±800kV power transmission project is a national key project of "power transmission from west to east" and one of the main power transmission channels of Baihetan Hydropower Station, the second largest hydropower station in China in terms of installed capacity.
The project starts from Butuo County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and ends in Linping District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, passing through five provinces including Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Anhui and Zhejiang, with a total length of 2121km.

Henan Songxian Pumped Storage Power Station Project is located in the upper reaches of Beiru River in Checun Town, Songxian County, with a total investment of about 11.5 billion CNY. The proejct has a design capacity of 1.8GW, with 6 sets of 300MW reversible water pump turbine generators, and is connected to the Central China Power Grid at a voltage level of 500 kV. All units are planned to be put into operation in 2031.

All turbines have started operating at the State Power Investment Corporation’s (SPIC) Jieyang Shenquan Second Offshore Wind Power Project, in Guangdong, marking China’s official entry into the 11MW era of offshore wind power. The project has an installed capacity of 502MW, composed of thirty-four 11MW and sixteen 8MW wind turbine units. Among them, the 11MW wind turbine is the EW11.0-208 unit of the Petrel Haiyan platform. It is SPIC’s first commercial-scale application of 10MW+ offshore wind units.

Corporate Net Zero Pathways
Both Jiangsu and Guangdong power exchanges have concluded their provincial annual contract transactions for 2023. According to the results released by the power exchanges, the Jiangsu total annual transaction volume excluding green power was 338.989 TWh, with a weighted average price of 466.64 CNY/MWh, 19.35% higher than the coal-fired base price. The annual green power transaction volume in Jiangsu was 1.774 TWh, which was almost double that of 2022. Green power’s weighted average price was 468.58 CNY/MWh, which was similar to the price last year, still hovering around the price ceiling.
With regards to Guangdong, the total annual transaction volume excluding green power was 247.277 TWh, with a weighted average price of 553.86CNY/MWh. The annual green power trading in Guangdong has reached 1.563TWh, more than twice as much as in 2022. The green power’s average transaction price has also increased by 7% compared to that of last year, reaching 551.15CNY/MWh made up of529.94CNY/MWh of power tariff and 21.21CNY/MWh of green premium.
