First batch of wind turbines start operating at CGN Shandon Laizhou 304MW offshore wind project
After four and a half months of intense construction, the first batch of wind turbines of the Shandong Laizhou Offshore Wind Power Project have recently been connected to the grid and have started operation. The Laizhou project is in the northern sea area of Laizhou City, Shandong. It has a planned capacity of 304 MW constituted of thirty-eight 8.0 MW wind turbines. After being put into operation, annual power generation is expected to reach 1,000 GWh.
Jiaxing municipal government encourages new renewable energy projects to purchase energy storage services
The Jiaxing Renewable Energy Development “14th Five” Year Plan has been released by Jiaxing city (Zhejiang Province). By the end of 2025, wind, solar and biomass installed capacity should reach 5.7GW, an increase of 2.62GW compared to 2020. The plan also encourages the development of energy storage demonstration projects, and encourages newly installed offshore wind and centralized solar projects to build their own supporting energy storage infrastructure or to purchase new energy storage services.
Dongfang Electric has successfully developed the highest power fuel cell system in China
The OLAS 270A fuel cell system independently developed by Dongfang Electric has passed the national compulsory inspection certification, and all parameters and indicators have reached the industry-leading level. The system has a rated power of 270 kW and a peak power of 272 kW, making it the most powerful single fuel cell system in China. The OLAS 270A fuel cell features an exhaust gas energy recovery integration system and control technology to reduce power consumption. The energy efficiency of the system under rated working conditions reaches 43%.
China's first offshore CCUS project is put in operation
CNOOC's first phase of the Enping 15-1 Oilfield project, together with its supporting offshore CCUS (Carbon Capture，Utilization and Storage) unit have started production. Enping 15-1 oilfield group is the first high CO2 oilfield in the South China Sea. With the help of domestic manufacturers, CNOOC has developed the first set of supercritical macromolecular compressor suitable for marine environment, forming a technical system and complete equipment for marine CO2 capture, reinjection and storage. It is estimated that a cumulative 300,000 tons of CO2 can be stored every year

Guangdong released the 2022 Carbon Emission Allowance Plan
The Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangdong Province issued the 2022 Carbon Emission Allowance Allocation Plan of Guangdong Province. The scope of the provincial carbon emission management and trading in 2022 covers 5 industries: cement, steel, petrochemical, paper and civil aviation. Enterprises in these industries with annual CO2e emissions of over 10,000 tons will be subject to this regulation. In light of the overall target of Guangdong Province to control green house gas (GHG) emissions in 2022, combined with the considerations such as national and provincial industrial policies, industry planning and economic development forecasts, the total allowance for 2022 isdetermined to be 266 million tons CO2e, of which the quota for emission control enterprises is 253 million tons CO2e, and the reserve allowance is 13million tons CO2e including the auction allowance (~0.5 million tons CO2e) for newproject enterprises and the market adjustment reserve.
