PowerChina Hainan floating offshore wind farm starts construction
On the morning of December 26, the foundation laying ceremony of PowerChina Hainan floating offshore wind farm phase I was held in Wanning, Hainan. The project is located in the eastern area of Wanning City, and is invested by PowerChina.
The project centre is located approximately 22km from the shore and the water depth is about 100m, with a planned installed capacity of 1,000MW including phase I 200MW planned to be operating by the end of 2025, and phase II 800MW planned to be operating in 2027.

Guohua publishes 600MW offshore wind turbine tender results
Guohua has recently launched a tender for the procurement of 600MW of offshore wind turbines. The tender is divided into two sections representing 300MW for each phase.
Mingyang smart is the first candidate to win the bid. The bid price is about 2.158 billion CNY, equivalent to 3597 CNY/kW (including tower). The delivery time is February 2023 to May 2023 for Phase I and June 2023 to September 2023 for Phase II.

Guangxi 700MW offshore wind project approved by local government
GIG (Guangxi Investment Group) Guangxi Fangcheng port Zone A 700MW offshore wind project has been approved by the local government, and has thus become the first approved offshore wind farm in Guangxi. The project’s central point is 15 km from the coast, with water depth ranging from 15 to 18m.
The total investment of the project is about 9.7 billion yuan. It is planned to be completed and put into operation by 2025. After full capacity grid connection, the annual power generation is expected to reach 2TWh.

16GW wind and solar power generation base start construction
On the morning of December 28, the Kubuqi Base Project, the world's largest wind and solar power project, developed and constructed in the Gobi desert , has started construction. The project is jointly invested by 3-Gorges and IMEIC (IMAR Energy Investment Group).
The planned total investment of the Kubuqi base project is more than 80 billion CNY, with a total installed capacity of 16GW, including 8GW of solar power, 4 GW of wind power, and 4GW of advanced high-efficiency coal power for supporting reconstruction and expansion.

Shenergy Hainan 1200MW offshore project phase I foundation installation and construction procurement bidding opened
The bidding for offshore wind turbines was opened for the Phase I of a 1200 MW project off the coast of Danzhou, Hainan Province, and developed by Shenergy. The project is divided into 2 tenders of 600 each. With 71 units 8.5MW wind turbines are used in this bidding scheme, 58 monopile foundations, 6 suction bucket jacket foundations and 7 drilled piled jacket foundations.
The Shenergy Hainan Offshore Wind Farm Project is on the northeast side of Danzhou, with a planned area of 191 km2, and located 27 km away from the coastline.
