The Year of the Horse is arriving, and with it comes the biggest holiday season in China. As fireworks light up the sky and red lanterns go up across the country, sellers are packing up and couriers are heading home for their annual break.
But while the logistics world hits the pause button, Baopals is revving up.
We are using this holiday downtime to perform the biggest upgrade in our history. Baopals 3.0 is coming during the Chinese New Year break, and it is going to change the way you shop forever. While the Baopals website will remain accessible, please note that the Baopals App may be temporarily unavailable as we migrate to the new system. We are moving millions of products, user histories, and data to a smarter, faster platform.
Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming maintenance, the new features, and the China-wide logistics shutdown.
We have rebuilt the experience from the ground up. Here are three major upgrades arriving with the Year of the Horse:
1. Smarter AI Search & Live Help
The number one request we get is for better search results. The new Baopals features a powerful AI Smart Search that makes finding exactly what you want much easier.
Still can't find that specific item? We are introducing Live Chat. You will be able to connect directly with our team in real-time to help find products, check sizing, or answer questions.
2. One Platform, Two Worlds
The new Baopals adapts to where you are.
Mainland Mode: Enjoy the local pricing and speed you are used to.
Overseas Mode: We now ship Worldwide. This is a game-changer for expats in China—you can now easily switch your region to "Overseas" to send gifts directly to family back home in the US, Europe, or beyond.
3. Your Wallet, Unlocked
We are upgrading the Baopals Wallet to a flexible Points System.
More Flexibility: In the old system, you needed enough balance to cover the whole order. In the new system, you can use Points to pay for part of an order to get a discount.
Earn as you Shop: You will now earn points on every single purchase to save on future orders.
As part of this major upgrade, we are retiring our old "Ticket" support system in favor of Live Chat.
To ensure no conversations are lost during the database migration, we are moving all support for current and past orders to email.
Tickets Disabled: The "Need Help" ticket form on the old site will be disabled.

While we upgrade our software, the entire logistics network across China is taking a break.
Most shipping companies and sellers across China will be completely shut down during the week of Feb 15 - Feb 23. No deliveries will move during this period.
Sellers and couriers will slowly start returning by March 3 (after the Lantern Festival). Expect some delays on orders placed during the holiday as the backlog clears.
Because Baopals 3.0 moves away from the warehouse model to a direct shipping model, the current Hong Kong warehouse is closing.
If you have items sitting in your warehouse right now, you MUST arrange shipping immediately. Please do not leave items behind during the migration.
