《花的缘》收录了作者创作的近200幅作品，包含花系列、风景系列、蕾丝系列、水影系列。作者典雅、温馨的画作加之创作随笔、艺术家评论，让这本书在令人赏心悦目的同时引发大家对艺术与生命的思考。
本次展览共展出来自艺术家王海燕的160余幅作品，她的新书《花的缘》也将于画展期间同步发布。她以纸媒为载体，予花朵以灵魂，用温暖又明亮的色彩、无序又跳跃的线条构成她笔下的“花的缘”，展示着她对生活的热爱和对美的追求。

海燕这些年特别关注中国传统艺术，注重对其母体艺术、本源艺术——民间艺术的理解与思考。我一直认为中国民间文化的特质在于“吉祥”，中国的民间艺术也成为一种追求喜瑞祥和的艺术，它利用象征、寓意、谐音等手法串联出无限的意义，渗透在生活的方方面面，默默地发挥着自己的影响。这个民族历经艰辛依然坚韧不屈、乐观向上，离不开中国民间文化。
In recent years, she had a particular eye for Chinese traditional arts, especially appreciating and understanding folk arts, the paternal forms of Chinese arts. I always believe that folk arts are rooted in the essence of auspiciousness. Folk art is also an art to pursuit good luck and happiness, using techniques such as allegory, symbolization, and homophony to create infinite meanings. It can be seen in every aspect of our lives, playing a part to exert influence on us all. Folk art contributes to optimistic quality and resistance of the Chinese people.

所以每一个民间艺术形象既是具象的，又是抽象的，更是意象的。它超越了个体，也超越了形象与形式本身，传达出浓缩的中国文化语汇，构成典型符号。中国民间艺术的这种特点深深地吸引了海燕，从汉画像石、敦煌壁画、瓷器纹样、民间剪纸、刺绣、年画中她多有汲取。
So every folk art image is both concrete and abstract, and even imagery. It is more than an individual, but something beyond form and image itself, a symbolic existence as a condensed expression in the Chinese art and cultural languages. This particularly attracts Haiyan. She takes inspirations from Han portraits, Dunhuang frescoes,porcelain patterns,folk paper-cutting,embroidery and New Year paintings.
《月月花开No.16》 创作过程
她近些年的花卉作品有着浓浓的中国风，从构图到色彩，再到造型和传达的意义完全是中国化的。但她又运用了西方的媒介，不过她不是将东西方艺术进行元素上的简单拼接，按她自己的话说，是要“运用新的寓意，来获得当代人对中国传统民间文化的经验方式”，这便成为一种意味，她的探索性也尽在其中。
Her recent flower paintings use the Western medium but convey strong image of a Chinese style, from composition, color to forming. Her approach was not simply putting Eastern and Western art elements together, but in her own words,“taking advantage of new meanings to obtain a way for modern people to understand Chinese traditional folk arts.” It is a new way to include her experiments and exploration.
《花空间No.3》创作过程
她偏重色彩的感知与色彩的强烈，在创作中国化的艺术形象时如何发挥油彩的饱满、层次、弹性与质感，让二者自然融合，而不矫揉造作，是她着意解决的课题。所以她笔下的梅兰竹菊、龟背生花、多子多福、富贵吉祥在传统的神韵中多了几分现代气息。符号性少了，生活性多了，寓意性淡了，审美性强了，这也是现代人对传统文化的选择。
Her style focuses on color perception and intensity, and how to make full play of the richness, layers, flexibility and texture of oil colors in creating Chinese art images. It is a task of hers to realize natural integration of those elements, rather than deliberate manufacturing. The themes from her works, such as four flowers, turtle and flowers, kids and blessings, fortune and good luck, all bear a modern sense. It carries less symbolic and implied meanings, but more aesthetic values and closeness to life. It is a choice made by her as a modern person on traditional culture.

艺术家介绍
1974 年生于青岛，1996 年毕业于山东艺术学院油画专业；2009 年毕业于中国美术学院油画系，获硕士学位。
曾任教于山东大学艺术学院、中国美术学院；现为天津美术学院教授，中国美术家协会会员。

Wang Haiyan
Wang Haiyan was born in Qingdao, Shandong Province, in 1974. She graduated from Shandong University of Arts with a BA degree in 1996, and graduated from China Academy of Art with a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2009. She held teaching positions at Fine Arts School of Shandong University and China Academy of Art. She is a professor at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and a member of China Artists Association now.
