据美国海关及边境保护局 消息，自2016年11月起持有中华人民共和国护照并同时持有十年有效B1/B2、 B1或B2（访问者）签证的中国旅客，必须完成EVUS登记才能获得许可进入美国。在此日期之前，持有此类有效签证的中国旅客无需使用EVUS系统即可前往美国。所有持有其他类别有效签证的中国旅客仍可正常前往美国，不受EVUS要求影响。
每次 EVUS 登记都必须包含签证持有者姓名、出生日期、护照及其他个人资料和工作信息。每次信息更新将被视为一次EVUS登记。一次登记一般保持两年有效，若旅客的签证或护照两者中任何一者过期，EVUS登记的信息即失效。持有十年有效期B1/B2、B1或 B2 签证的中国公民在计划前往美国旅行（如果两年期登记已过期）或获取新护照时必须更新信息。

Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS) launched targeting Chinese travelers holding valid 10-year visas to the United States
U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced that travelers on a passport issued by the People's Republic of China and holding valid 10-year B1/B2, B1 or B2 visas to the United States will be required to complete an EVUS enrollment to be admitted into the country, effective November 2016. Before this date, Chinese travelers still may go to the United States without any further action. All travelers with other types of valid visas may travel to the United States as they do normally, regardless of the date.
Each EVUS enrollment must contain the visa holder's name, birth date, and passport information as well as other biographical and employment information. An information update is referred to as an enrollment. Enrollments generally last for two years or when the traveler's visa or passport expires, whichever comes first. Chinese holders of 10-year B1/B2, B1 or B2 visas will need to update their information before they intend to travel to the United States (if a two-year enrollment has expired), or when they get a new passport.
