CPSU members from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will strike on September 9 in Australia
As announced by Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) in Australia, employees of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) will strike across the nation on September 9. The work stoppages will happen in all DIBP work areas, including international airports, client service centers, ports, container examination facilities and international mail facilities.
The strike will run from 0830 to 1130 (local time) in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, while in the ACT, the strike will be held from 1130 to 1430 (local time).
Contingency arrangements are being put in place to minimize the impact on the travelling public and on cargo and mail operations, as well as visa and citizenship service.
