中国铁路总公司 将从2017年1月5日起实行新的列车运行图，增开/调整部分列车，同时将提高部分列车运营速度和调整部分列车运营时间。
此外沪昆高铁也即将全线贯通，云南省将连入全国高速铁路网。该线路开通后，昆明至北京最快运行时间较现行直达特快列车压缩约21小时，昆明至上海最快运行时间较现行普通列车压缩约22小时，昆明至深圳最快运营时间较现行普通列车压缩约22小时。
为了配合此次运行图和春运运行图的调整，12月30日以后的火车票预售期调整为30天，除夕（1月27日）的列车票将于12月29日开售。 中航嘉信提醒近期有计划选择铁路出行的旅客密切关注铁路与列车时刻的变化，合理安排出行。

China Railway will launch new train diagram from 5 January 2017 Shanghai-Kunming high-speed railway is scheduled to open
China Railway Corporation will launch new train diagram for multiple passenger lines from 5 January 2017. More trains will be operated and some will be adjusted accordingly. For some lines, China Railway will speed up and adjust the schedule.
In addition, high-speed rail service between Kunming and Shanghai will open soon to connect Yunnan with China rail high-speed's (CRH) network. Duration from Kunming to Beijing will be around 21 hours less than original direct-express train. For lines from Kunming to Shanghai and Shenzhen, it will be around 22 hours less than normal trains.
To better coordinate with the new train diagram and Spring Festival transportation, China Railway will adjust presale policy to be 30 days from December 30. Tickets for New Year' eve (27 January 2017) will be able to book from 29 December 2016.
