New Zealand to implement New Tourist Tax from July 1
As reported by media, New Zealand announced its plan to charge a tourist tax of NZ$35 (approximately US$23), effective July 1. The tax will be supported for basic infrastructure and environmental protection in New Zealand.
According to the law, most international travelers entering New Zealand for 12 months or less will be required to pay the tax, with the exception of travelers from Australia and many Pacific island countries.
