Russhell: 对于CWT来说,DE&I是我们的DNA。我们致力于为员工提供更为多元、包容、平等的体验与福祉。我于2022年10月以全球ESG以及DEI经理的身份加入CWT。在此之前我已经拥有了一定法务和DE&I的从业背景。这些从业经验可以很大程度帮助我搭建切实有效的DE&I战略。当我们的员工能够在他们各自的领域实践更多的DE&I,他们将在职场上发挥出最好的一面,从而将这些积极反馈带给我们的客户。
CWT如何在员工中评估DE&I的实践状况?
Rich: 我们2023年的一个重点是将ERG项目(Employee Resource Group即员工资源小组,简称ERG)逐步强化,将拥有不同性格以及不同人生历练的员工建立强大的连接。通过这些小组支持,可以激发员工的潜能,从而创建一个更为多元、平等、包容的工作环境。我们今年计划至少增加一支ERG小组,同时我们还会加强评估现有小组的现有活动状况从而加大成功可能性。当然我们并不满足于此!我们对于DE&I的承诺和相关标准都已纳入了CWT管理目标和相关培训。

Now that we’re all up to speed with that let’s hear from our experts on these important topics, Rich Thompson, the new global head of ESG and employee experience, and Russhell Ford, new global ESG and DEI manager.
What is your role in helping CWT to address ESG and DE&I issues?

Rich:CWT has a clear mission on this, which is to embed it into our employee experience and strategy to ensure the sustainability of our business model. In order to take our decade-long efforts in Responsible Business to the next level, I was appointed global head of ESG and employee experience. In the short time since then, we have established an ESG-focused Board committee, strengthened the team, and built it more deeply into our business strategy. This is allowing us to better support our customers’ ever-changing needs whilst attracting and retaining the talent needed to achieve their goals.

Russhel: DE&I is absolutely part of our DNA at CWT. We believe in creating opportunities to give our people the experience and benefits of being more diverse, inclusive, and equitable. I joined CWT in October 2022 as global ESG and DE&I manager with a law and corporate DE&I background. The experience that I’m bringing with me will help me enormously as I develop our latest DE&I strategy that focuses on the pragmatic and tangible. The more opportunities employees have to practice DE&I in a safe environment, the more it becomes central to who we are and what we do, which in turn gives our customers confidence that they are working with people who are really committed to DE&I.
How does CWT measure DE&I among employees?
Russhell: An integral piece of our DE&I strategy is measurement. We use benchmarking tools that can measure and track progress as well as guide us to achieving our goals. These sophisticated tools allow us to really understand where we are on important issues such as supporting women to achieve leadership roles and what we can do to improve resources for our LGBTQ+ employees.
Rich: A key focus for 2023 is growing our Employee Resource Group (ERG) program; networks of employees coming together based on shared characteristics or life experiences. These groups are a brilliant source of support for our employees but equally they are proving to be a catalyst to creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. We plan to add at least one additional ERG this year, whilst measuring the success of the existing ones by analyzing attendance and event trends. We aren’t stopping there though! Such is our commitment to DE&I, criteria relating to these are included now in CWT management objectives and training targets.
How are CWT customers and their travelers benefiting from this work?
Russhell: Research has shown that companies thrive when they broaden and deepen the awareness and understanding of DE&I amongst their people. This certainly rings true for CWT, and we take every opportunity to use what we’ve learned to drive product development and design. By listening to our customers, we discovered there was a need to add gender-inclusive capabilities to our traveler profile management system, and so we did. We continue to seek out ways to improve the accessibility of our tools and help customers design people-centric travel management programs using our ECO framework, which covers Employee Wellbeing, Climate Impact and Organizational Performance.
Rich: In a word – partnership. Our customers want to be confident that CWT is aligned with, and contributes to, achieving their DE&I and ESG goals. So, when we take steps internally, for example to improve gender-inclusivity in our systems, we are supporting what our customers tell us is important to them. Not only is there a practical benefit for the traveler, but the message these adjustments convey is that your organization listens and cares, which is something CWT is incredibly proud to support.
