6月20日，2020年首场“青岛德比” 青岛红狮vs青岛黄海青港慈善义赛在莱西市体育中心体育场精彩上演。同日，胶东经济圈体育协同发展联盟、足球联盟在莱西市体育中心正式成立，胶东五市将协同打造区域体育新高地。青岛市体育局局长车景华发出倡议。莱西市委书记庄增大致辞。
6月20日下午三时许，在莱西市体育中心体育场，随着来自青岛、烟台、潍坊、威海、日照等五市体育局代表郑重落笔签字，胶东经济圈体育协同发展联盟、胶东经济圈城市足球联盟在莱西市体育中心同步正式成立。五市就建立体育协同发展、足球工作定期交流机制，加强体育赛事、足球赛事活动交流，加强体育、足球专业人员培养与协作、加强信息交流与政策联动等方面达成合作。
青岛市体育局局长车景华代表五市体育局发出倡议，青岛、烟台、潍坊、威海、日照五市将借助胶东经济圈体育协同发展联盟这一平台，让区域内体育产业、资源、技术、人才通过平台整合起来、流动起来，互动耦合，产生乘数效应、实现价值倍增，为区域体育发展提供强劲动力引擎，打造区域体育新高地。
莱西市委书记庄增大代表在致辞中指出，胶东经济圈体育协同发展联盟、足球联盟的成立，恰逢其时、恰在其地，必将成为推动胶东五市加强沟通、密切协作、增进友谊的先导，对进一步提升胶东经济圈影响力、号召力，助力胶东经济圈一体化高质量协同发展具有重大意义。
庄增大表示，在胶东经济圈这个大家庭中，五市情同手足、情谊深厚，大家都是主角，没有配角。胶东五市将以体育为媒，携手并进，把胶东经济圈打造成为产业共同体、利益共同体、命运共同体，打造具有全国影响力的胶东半岛城市群。
下午3点30分，2020年首场“青岛德比”足球比赛在莱西市体育中心体育场精彩上演。虽然因为疫情的影响，此次比赛采取了无现场观众的方式进行，但观众仍然通过山东体育频道、QTV-4、握得莱西APP、海看体育APP、爱青岛APP、蓝晴APP等多种方式观看了这场比赛。
官方用球赞助商德比星为此次比赛提供了德甲专用的比赛用球。
随着主裁判一声哨响，比赛正式开始。虽然双方此前没有过正式交手经历，但是开场以后双方没有进行过多的相互试探，比赛的呈现出激烈的拼抢态势。可能是由于参加2020年第一场正式比赛的原因，青岛红狮队开场阶段的表现尚显拘谨，反而是做客的青岛黄海青港队占据了比赛的主动权。随着比赛的进行，红狮的球员们逐渐找到了比赛的状态，并完成了全场比赛的第一脚打门。紧接着，双方的对抗进入了白热化阶段，身体接触也逐渐增多。双方球员各自都创造出了不错的机会，但临门一脚稍有偏差，最终上半场的较量双方以0-0暂时打平。
下半场比赛开始后，双方主帅均对场上阵容了进行了大范围的轮换。比赛第54分钟，青岛黄海青港队队员稽浩翔左路下底传中，石哲禁区内得球冷静推射，率先为客队取得领先。
第66分钟，青岛红狮队22号球员王晨阳左路突破，撕开对手的防守后起脚传中，此时已经埋伏在禁区的红狮9号球员张洋敏锐的捕捉到时机，高高跃起，一记头球帮助球队扳平比分。
然而一分钟以后，之前为主队建功的石哲禁区内造点，由朱建荣主罚命中，将比分改写1-2。在比分落后的情况下，青岛红狮并没有表现出焦躁和慌张。相反的，球员在场上通过有效的沟通，连续抓住对手的几次失误组织起有效的反击。
在比赛的第78分钟，红狮球员左路突破成功后传中，禁区内的两名黄海队员判断失误，被红狮球员拿到球后回传给禁区外围无人盯防的22号王晨阳，后者稍作调整，起脚便是一记势大力沉的远射，皮球直挂球门死角而去，青岛红狮队将比分改写为 2-2。

在赛后的新闻发布会上，红狮代理主教练史汉军表示：“此次比赛是我们青岛红狮队2020年的第一次正式比赛，这样的情况对于我们来说造成了一些困难。上半场球队表现的比较拘谨，但是经过中场调整以后，下半场的进攻有了明显的起色。我个人感觉这场比赛还是非常精彩的，双方球队各进两个球，为广大球迷奉上了一场精彩的比赛。”在谈及中场如何进行调整的时候，史汉军表示：“我们红狮俱乐部在休赛期引进了不少年轻的新球员，为我们的队伍补充了新鲜的血液。可能对于这些年轻的球员来说，踢这样的正式比赛还是会比较拘谨。所以在中场休息阶段主要对球员们进行心理上的疏导和调整，告诉他们不要有心理负担，平时怎么训练的到了场上就怎么踢，把自己的技战术水平发挥出来就可以了。”
此次足球友谊赛是一场慈善义赛，通过莱西市红十字会为疫情防控人员募集捐款。红狮足球俱乐部非常感谢莱西市红十字会在疫情防控期间作出的努力，意愿通过慈善义赛对奋战在一线的疫情防控医护人员做出贡献，并使公众更加了解、支持红十字会工作。在现场，青岛明药堂医疗股份有限公司、青岛坤和信德文化体育发展有限公司向莱西市红十字会捐赠了10万个口罩。
