Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA) has launched the MEPS requirement, successively implement the Mandatory Energy Labelling to Air-conditioner, Refrigerator, Clothes Dryer and TV. Starting from this year, as the main energy consumption device, lighting products also bring into the mandatory scope for Energy Labelling.
All controlled lighting products must meet the MEPS requirement, obtain the energy efficiency test report from a accredited laboratory like Waltek, register the product in the system to apply for the COR(certification of registration) certification, and fixed with the energy label, before exporting to Singapore market. For now, there is no plan for LEDs mandatory for safety approval.
