The differences between the new version (2014) and the old one (2012) are mainly related to Energy Efficiency Label shape/design, and the requirement of Number of Stars. Issuance date of the label and registration number details are now added to the label template. However A/Cs Energy Efficiency Certificates/Labels that already issued by SASO according to the old version are still accepted if it is valid (not expired), and all new applications should comply with the new standard version.
On 28 Jan 2015, BIS announce that the registration under CRS shall be granted for 2 years with immediate effect. The validity of registration granted earlier for one year shall now stand amended to two years instead of one year mentioned in the letter for grant of registration.
Three more standards intended for battery chargers, CNS 3765 and IEC 60335-2-29 for safety, CNS 13783-1 for EMC will be especially adopted as inspection standards for those battery chargers for hand-held motor-operated electric tools under inspection scope of battery chargers, and this amendment will be effective from the date of publication.
Concerned product scope including equipment for generation, transmission, distribution, storage, measurements, controls, processing and consumption of electricity and telecommunication equipment. Components, understood as part of electrical construction, which should not be used alone in an explosive atmosphere and require an additional certification when incorporated into an electrical construction or electrical systems for potentially explosive atmospheres are also covered by this scheme.
This draft TR will modify the requirement for the external electronic position indicator and the electronic position indicator, will immediate enforcement after adoption.
Thailand Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to withdraw current standards for 3 kinds of Fluorescent Lamps Products including: Double/Single Capped Fluorescent Lamps, Self Ballasted Lamps. The major change of safety requirements covers photobiological safety, blue light and infrared hazards below the level which requires marking and labelling.
Thailand Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) has proposed to enforce TIS 2337-2557(2014) Ballasts for tubular fluorescent lamps: energy efficiency requirements including minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) requirement. This draft standard scope covers the ballast which is a separate component or built into the lamp.
The draft standard specifies the general, performance, efficiency and mechanical and electrical safety requirements, including test methods for type approval, for non-invasive electronic or automated sphygmomanometers and their accessories. This draft standard only applies to the devices measuring at the upper arm, the wrist or the thigh.
The draft Technical Regulation establishes the general and labelling requirements to be met by compact and tubular fluorescent lamps. This draft Technical Regulation applies to domestically manufactured or imported fluorescent lamps, including: Non /Self-ballasted compact fluorescent lamps and Single/Double-capped tubular fluorescent lamps with a power not exceeding 200 W that are marketed in Ecuador.
