Change in risk control for products of Australia

All electronic and electrical products could be divided to 3 types based on  existing risk of products: high risk(level 3) ,medium risk(level2) and low risk(level 1),3 types of products ask for different certification requirements, but all products must require a local registered supplier, both product manufacture and importer is acceptable to ensure safety of electronic and electrical products. Low risk devices(level 1) Supplier should ensure their products comply with relevant safety standards and reserve compliance evidence for 5 years after stopping selling. Medium risk devices(level 2) Suppliers should ensure their products meet relevant safety requirements, issued testing report by specified lab or institution and register product’s information at EESS database. High risk devices(level 3)supplier must ensure their products comply with relevant safety standards, issued testing report by specified lab or institution, conduct product certification at specified audit institution then obtain qualified certificate(COC),Meanwhile register product information at EESS database. Since 2013, 66 kinds of products in total were regarded as level 3 and level 2 devices which should be registered at EESS database; On 1^st Jan,2017, the products which required registration will increase to 75 sorts when revised draft becoming effective.
