Role Description:
Monitor the operations performance utilizing global operations KPIs & tools. Drive for continuously improvement.
Identify & implement operations HPO opportunities.
Use technical expertise to support the sites in the area of HyCO plant operations and related production process equipment.
Support the ROC concept.
Primary Responsibility:
Operations Performance Management for HyCO plants within Regional Greater China
Implement the global KPI tools (iHistation, scorecard etc.) and ensure plant KPIs well reflects the operation performance and supported by the Platform to resolve the outstanding issues if any.
Identify & drive common improvement opportunities / best practices for plant efficiency & reliability. Recognize HPO opportunities and facilitate the capture in global GAP system.
Develop / provide appropriate tools to facilitate the site operation performance improvement, such as UniSim simulation models etc.
Plan & Organize regular Process Efficiency Review (PER) for HyCO sites.
Set plant KPI targets aligning with global requirement. Track the actual plant performances against targets and identify the necessary actions / improvements to eliminate the gaps & continuously improve.
Review CoD reports & help operations team to correctly record, report the event, identify the root causes, and drive necessary actions.
Provide necessary trainings / coaches to the local operations team or ROC to facilitate the understanding and implementation of the operations KPIs.
Support the achievement of plant improvement plans by communicating and driving specific technology advancement plans for use in HyCO applications.
Prepare a monthly report covering each of the HyCO operating sites.
According to risks identified in operation practices, drive preventive activities in RGC & deliver the information to the responsible person in order to improve the LGSR and / or new projects.
Pay regular visits to individual sites, “visible leadership”, to ensure that all procedures are being followed and also to make the site aware that support is always available.
Provide technical expertise for trouble shooting and root cause analysis.
Where necessary, provide expert technical knowledge to support the development, execution, training, commissioning and troubleshooting of new HyCO projects. Support revamps and plant improvement projects.
Where necessary, provide support to HyCO operations standardization and vendor qualification
Global operations Platform interface.
Work with Local and Global platform teams for wider support & feed back to global structures.
Work closely with APAC and Global HyCO Ops teams and deliver best practice & common solutions.

Required key skills (functional/technical):
5+ years of experience preferably in the field of Steam Reforming and/or Partial Oxidation Technology; (Ammonia, Methanol or H2/CO), cryogenic separation of H2/CO, or refinery operations in an operations, engineering or technical role.
In depth expertise in such technologies as Steam Reforming, partial Oxidation (Gasification), cryogenic equipment, H2 purification etc.
BS Chemical engineering required.
Strong technical aptitude.
Preferably experience in Operations, Technical Services or Plant Design.
Strong analytical thinking.
Technical expertise.
Six Sigma training an advantage.
Experience with HAZOP and SIL studies.
Knowledge of process simulation tools.
Good oral & written communication skills in English and local language.
