Title: Expert Combustion Processes
Report to: Head of Non Ferrous & Mining Industry Segment

Role Description:
Responsible for the development of new products (Application PSOs), application capability building and application support for sales units in order to achieve the targets set in relation to existing and new business for the Non Ferrous & Mining industry segment. Main focus are processes in the Non Ferrous Industry but will also support other combustion related projects and activities in e.g. the Glass or Ferrous Industry Globally support RBU teams in customer acquisition and business development.
Primary Responsibility:
Industry insight
— Provides insights about market developments and trends in the industry segment.
— Identifies and evaluates product ideas along the R&D stage-gate process.
— Carries out feasibility studies of new products/ new applications / process ideas
— Generates new ideas and innovative solutionsProject development
— Manages identified development projects and their commercialisation, applying the Farsight, and Waypoint processes.
— Manages alliance and external development partners from the industrial sector and universitiesCustomer support
— Product Life Cycle Manager (PLCM) for related PSOs
— Provides expert technical knowledge & support to the local RBU teams for proposals and project executions (PLCM)
— Creates performance specifications
— Implements defined development projects through to ready-for-market status (in co-operation with partners)Knowledge transfer
— Communicates internally and externally via suitable media
— Trains and coaches worldwide users/sales force/application engineers in the TLAA frameworkProfitability monitoring
— Compiles costs/profit analysis as well as market potential studies

Required key skills (functional/technical):
Deep industry knowledge within the Non-Ferrous or/and Ferrous Industry (Copper, Aluminium, Lead, Foundries) or several years of experience in application development related to technical gases.
Technical excellence in minimum 3 or more of the following fields are required:
Non Ferrous/Ferrous process Know How
— Non Ferrous/Ferrous Metallurgy
— Burner Technology and Combustion Expert (emissions and lab work)
— Melt process analysis for technical feasibility and cost
— Heat and material balances
— Ability to develop new applications at customer sitesExcellent oral and written English communication skills. One more language desirable.
Proficient in using current, standard IT software (MS Office, Lotus Notes)
Required Qualification:
Masters in Science (Materials Science, Metallurgy, Process Engineering)
5+ years of professional experience with a Non-Ferrous materials recycler or producer, an industrial gas company or supplier to the related industry
Experience in the thermodynamics as well as with control and analytical methods are desired.
Experience as a project manager responsible for cost management and ability to work independently and proactively are a prerequisite.
Readiness for travelling on a regular basis (national and international)
