Internships all around the globe
An Internship abroad is the dream of many students. This year students from the boarding school “Internatsschule Schloss Hansenberg” had the chance.
Organized through the “Hansenberg Internship Program” they had the opportunity to gain new experience and knowledge as well as getting to know different cultures and the international working life. In collaboration with the Linde Group they were sent all over the world to Switzerland, Australia, India, England, USA, Ecuador, Italy, Malaysia, Turkey and China.
Annika, Julian, Jonathan, Simon and Franziska had the opportunity to work at our Linde Gas headquarters in Shanghai. A short report of their time:
The five students were each appointed to different departments where they had the chance to get a closer look at how Linde operates. “Here in Shanghai we were very welcomed by all of our colleagues and thanks to their steady support we were able to achieve a lot of new knowledge over the duration of our internship,” states Annika.
Through direct mentors, the students could participate directly in the process. Franziska the Intern of the HR Department adds: “I got the chance to organize a Job Fair and could participate actively in the whole process. I was not prepared for such a responsibility and my expectations were by far exceeded.”
Apart from their daily work life the students were offered the chance to visit one of Linde’s Plants directly. “It was really great to see one of the plants up close as the technical aspect is fundamental for Linde’s success” Jonathan tells, “over the last few weeks we learned all about the theory, so this excursion rounded it all up”.
Julian finally concludes: “All in all our stay was amazing and I think I speak for everyone when I say that we won’t forget those four weeks anytime soon. I am sure the experiences and knowledge we gained will accompany us for quite a while and we will definitely benefit from them in our future.”
“We are really grateful for this opportunity and want to thank everyone who contributed to make our stay possible!” adds Simon.
The whole program was a big success and we are looking forward to welcoming new students next year!
