Role Description:

  1. Support the development of HPO BSCM Plan and Execute Investments practices/tools for oversight of bulk strategy development and investments to ensure efficient use of capital for new product capacity additions, as well as successful commercialization of bulk investments. Support the development and utilize capacity planning tools and other HPO guidelines/tools to identify opportunities for RBU/country profit improvement and growth to meet sales growth, profit growth and GAP targets with respect to: new investments, product purchase/swap options, price improvement opportunities, network optimization and cost savings.

Primary Responsibility:

  1. Support the development and implementation of a global investment framework and methodology (HPO BSCM) that promotes capital efficient investments in the bulk business.

  2. Assist RBU in the development of robust investment cases and commercialization plans to deliver new capacity successfully using the HPO BSCM frameworks, methodologies and tools.

  3. Provide input and support to develop the Distribution equipment capex and opex requirements for any bulk investment opportunity.

  4. Provide input and challenge on specific bulk investments, with particular emphasis on; solution option generation, supply/demand analysis, pricing projections, sales loading plans, and risk & change management commercialization plans.

  5. Support implementation and performance tracking of bulk commercialization projects.

  6. Assist RBU with supply network design and optimization including product sourcing, investments, logistics efficiency, outage mitigation, regional pricing targets, and customer portfolio development.

  7. Participate in development of Bulk product pricing tools in conjunction with MPG P&CM and RBU marketing and sales teams, as well as Global Bulk PM team.

  8. Support pricing initiatives (campaigns or individual customer activities) through direct analysis of price potential, target setting for powerzones or specific customers as requested, customer visits, sales proposal development.

  9. Support RBU in the development of annual 5 year capacity plans to support the growth agenda in Greater China. Utilize the HPO BSCM frameworks and tools to ensure strategic views are imbedded in the capacity plans.

  10. Assist RBU in the identification and quantification of appropriate price and margin improvement initiatives.

  11. Support and challenge RBU in the development of bulk investment cases in tonnage led opportunities.

  12. Develop RBU People with respect to Bulk Product Management capability thru training, on the job teaching, etc.

  13. Support rollout and upgrading of Bulk Base PSO’s in the relevant RBU as required.

  14. Relevant products are Bulk products LASU, LCO2, H2.

Required key skills (functional/technical):

  4. Strong understanding of key profit levers and interaction of levers for bulk business, with particular emphasis on the product value chain.

  5. Deep technical and industry-specific expertise.

  6. Strong financial background including discounted cash flow analysis of capital investments

Required Qualification:

  1. Degree in Engineering or Technical area (MBA preferred).

  2. Strong financial capability with respect to discounted cash flow analysis and financial statement analysis.

  3. 5+ years experience working in Sales, Marketing, Product Management and/or Product supply preferred.

  4. 3 + years with industrial gases or chemical company commercial experience.
