GONVVAMA Shenyang Plant Phase II Blanking Line First Cut

At 8:30 on May 15^th, 2020, VAMA Gonvarri Advanced Automotive Steel Solutions（Shenyang） Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as GONVVAMA Shenyang Plant) successfully completed the first cut in the Phase II Blanking Line.

Phase I project of GONVVAMA Shenyang Plant was officially put into operation in May 2018. Phase I is equipped with the world's most advanced blanking Line, laser ablation Line and laser welding Line. With the increasing demand of customers in the region, the production lines of Phase I achieve their full capacity one after another. In this context, preparation for the construction of the second phase was started by the end of 2018. Experiencing the market fluctuation in 2019 and the peak of the epidemic in the beginning of 2020, first cut was successfully made by Phase II Blanking Line today, and the trial production was started as per schedule. The line is expected to be put into mass production in early June. The production of the Phase II Blanking Line will double the blanking capacity of GONVVAMA Shenyang Plant, realizing an annual steel processing capacity of 100,000 tons, and become the only steel processing center in the whole region with two fully automatic uncoiling blanking lines.

It is not easy to realize the first cut of the Phase II Blanking Line. The installation of equipment was started in November 2019, and construction was temporarily suspended for nearly 2 months after the Spring Festival due to the outbreak of Covid-19 Epidemic. With the coordination and support of the headquarter, team in GONVVAMA Shenyang plant adopted a series of epidemic prevention measures, such as timely tracking of staff’s travel information, daily disinfection, regularly monitoring body temperature, keeping safe distance and setting different time slot for dining, etc.

With the active and effective assistance of local government, and on the premise of ensuring health and safety of employees of both GONVVAMA and equipment suppliers, GONVVAMA Shenyang Plant successfully resumed to work on February 10^th, 2020. The installation and commissioning of the Phase II Blanking Line was successfully resumed at the end of March 2020. In the current difficult epidemic period, thanks to the solidarity of the teams, this important milestone was achieved after overcoming various unfavorable factors.
