In June 2018, the latest version European toys standard EN 71-3: 2013+A3:2018 (Migration of certain elements) was published by the European Committee for Standardization(CEN).
The amendments are primarily related to lead limit, the details are as follows:

The standard EN 71–3:2013+A3:2018 is expected to be harmonised standard under Directive 2009/48/EC.
The vital change in EN 71–3:2013+A3:2018 is essentially the amendment of the lead migration limits in accordance with Directive (EU) 2017/738 which published in April 2017. According to the Directive, the new limits will become effective on October 28, 2018.

Scientific safety assessments must be carried out during the product design phase to the bulk production phase to ensure that relevant products meet the new regulatory requirements and avoid export risk.
