十九世纪末期，我国清朝国力积弱，西欧各国列强大举入侵中国，搜刮经济利益，我国沿海各省民间流通的铜币，大部分都是外国银元。光绪十三年正月，时任两广总督的张之洞有见于此，乃上奏朝廷，提议在广东率先设立钱局，用机器铸钱币，抵制外国铜币垄断我国内之流通。光绪十五年，清廷批准铸币，造币所需的机器设备，全部需由外国进口。从此我国正式进入机器铸币时代。其后，各省纷纷购制国外机械铸造银、铜元。其后许多造币机均订购自著名的英国伦敦伯明翰造币有限公司。英国大工业的介入，使银币也沾染上西方色彩。钱币正面鲜然可见满汉文化的融合，而钱背却明确标示了西方文化的介入。本文主要介绍一枚河南省造光绪元宝。

In the first month of Guangxu's thirteenth year, Zhang Zhidong, then governor of Guangzhou and Guangdong provinces, saw this. He played the court first and proposed to set up a money Bureau in Guangdong, to mint coins by machine, and to resist foreign copper coins monopolizing the circulation of our country. In the fifteenth year of Guangxu, the Qing Dynasty approved coinage, and all the machinery and equipment needed for coinage were imported from abroad. Since then, China has officially entered the era of machine coinage. Since then, the provinces have purchased foreign machinery casting silver and copper yuan. Since then, many coins have been ordered from the famous London Birmingham Mint Co., Ltd. The intervention of British big industry has also stained silver coins with Western colors. On the positive side of coins, the integration of Manchu and Han cultures can be seen, while Qianbei clearly indicates the intervention of Western cultures. This paper mainly introduces a Yuanbao made in Guangxu of Henan Province.

此枚钱币为河南省造光绪元宝，钱币正面珠圈内铸中文“光绪元宝”四字，内有造币机构的满文名称，珠圈上环中文“河南省造”，下环中文“库平一两”。钱币背面中央铸飞龙图和币值，上环英文“清代银币”，下环英文币值“一两”。藏品虽经历了无穷岁月，但纹路依然清晰可见，也见证了其历史的积淀，具有非常明显的历史过渡性特征，有着难以言喻的价值。此枚河南省造光绪元宝工艺精湛，雕工完美，浮雕感强烈。
This coin is made in Guangxu, Henan Province. Four characters of Chinese "Guangxu Yuan Bao" are coined in the front bead circle of the coin. The Manchu name of the coin institution is included in the coin circle. The Chinese word "Made in Henan Province" in the upper ring of the bead circle and the Chinese word "Kuping one or two" in the lower ring. On the back of the coin, the central part of the coin is a drawing of the flying dragon and the value of the coin. The upper part of the coin is English "Silver coin of Qing Dynasty" and the lower part is English "one or two". Although the collection has gone through endless years, the lines are still clearly visible and witnessed its historical accumulation. It has very obvious historical transitional characteristics and has unspeakable value. This Henan Guangxu Yuanbao is exquisite in craftsmanship, perfect in carving and strong in relief.
