With the approval of the Qing government, Hubei Yinyuan Bureau formally established a factory building, purchased equipment from foreign countries, and recruited foreign engineers to mint silver coins. 此枚光绪元宝试铸币钱文清晰，古旧自然，钱币珠圈内铸有汉文“光绪元宝”字样，珠圈外上环“湖北省造”四字，下环“库平三钱六分”，钱币背面为腾龙图案，栩栩如生，惟妙惟悄。上环英文“湖北省”，下环英文“三钱六分”，左右各铸有一圆点心。此枚光绪元宝试铸币铸造工艺精湛，字体、图案都符合当时的铸造特征，字体书法根基牢固，运笔自如，浑厚有力，齿边等使用痕迹明显，包浆圆润，极具收藏价值。
