十九世纪中叶，随着中外贸易的增加，外国银元大量流入中国。由于外国银元制作精巧，标准统一，便于交易与计算，广为流通。因此，中国白银大量外流，损失极大。面对白银减少的危机，清廷决定自铸银元。光绪元宝始铸于广东，两广总督张之洞奏请在广东设立钱局，采用机器制造银元，从而成为我国现代机制银元的开创者。经清政府奏准，湖北银元局正式在武昌洗马池街成立。湖北银元局所造银元，因含银量高，制作精良，成色也比他省所铸的银币成色好，后来仍畅行江浙各省，价格也比他省的银币高。辛亥革命后，湖北银元局渐渐淡出人们的视线，曾经阜盛的洗马池街，也逐渐归于平静。本文主要介绍一枚错版光绪元宝。
In the mid-nineteenth century, with the increase of trade between China and foreign countries, a large number of foreign silver dollars flowed into China. Because of the exquisite production and unified standard of foreign silver dollar, it is easy to trade and calculate, and widely circulated. As a result, China's silver outflow has caused great losses. Facing the crisis of silver reduction, the Qing court decided to cast its own silver dollar. Guangxu Yuanbao was first cast in Guangdong. Zhang Zhidong, Governor of Guangzhou and Guangdong Provinces, asked to set up a money Bureau in Guangdong to make silver yuan by machine, thus becoming the pioneer of modern mechanism silver yuan in China. With the approval of the Qing government, the Yinyuan Bureau of Hubei Province was formally established in Ximachi Street, Wuchang. The silver coins made by Hubei Yinyuan Bureau are better than those made by other provinces because of their high silver content, excellent production and fineness. Later, the silver coins made by Hubei Yinyuan Bureau are still popular in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and their prices are higher than those of other provinces. After the Revolution of 1911, the Yinyuan Bureau of Hubei gradually faded out of people's sight, and the Ximachi Street, once in Fusheng, gradually returned to calm. This paper mainly introduces a wrong version of Guangxu Yuanbao.

此枚错版光绪元宝钱文清晰，古旧自然。钱币正面珠圈内铸“光绪元宝”四字，中央有八瓣菊花纹饰，珠圈外上环铸楷体“湖北省造”字样，下环币值“当十”二字，珠圈左右为满文。钱币背面中心为蟠龙图，龙鳞细腻，线条优美，铸造工艺精湛，定睛一看仿佛一条翱翔天际的神龙，栩栩如生，惟妙惟悄。上环英文“湖北省”，下环英文“十文”，左右各铸一花纹图案。此枚铜币铸造工艺精湛，字体、图案都符合当时的铸造特征，满文书法根基牢固，运笔自如，浑厚有力，齿边等使用痕迹明显，包浆滋润，极具收藏价值。

There are eight chrysanthemum decorations in the center. On the outside of the bead circle, the words "Made in Hubei Province" are cast in the upper ring. The value of the lower ring coin is "Dang Shi", and the left and right sides of the bead circle are written in Manchu. The center on the back of the coin is a pan-dragon picture. The dragon scales are delicate, the lines are graceful, and the casting technology is exquisite. At first glance, it looks like a divine dragon soaring in the sky, lifelike and lifelike. The upper ring English "Hubei Province" and the lower ring English "Ten Texts", each with a pattern. This copper coin has exquisite casting technology, fonts and patterns are in line with the casting characteristics at that time. The foundations of Manchu law are solid, the pen is free, thick and powerful, the edges of teeth are obvious, and the slurry is moist. It has great collection value.
