香炉起源于何时，尚未有定论，赵希鹄《洞天清禄集·古钟鼎彝器辨》：“古以萧艾达神明而不焚香，故无香炉。今所谓香炉，皆以古人宗庙祭器为之。爵炉则古之爵，狻猊炉则古踽足豆，香球则古之鬵，其等不一，或有新铸而象古为之者。惟博山炉乃汉太子宫所用者，香炉之制始于此。”

此币正面中央有“大清铜币”四个汉字，内嵌“粤”字代表地名，上端是满文“大清铜币”字样，两侧为年份“己酉”。下端为“当制钱十文”。钱背中央为蟠龙，下环英文字样(大清帝国铜币)。此枚大清铜币为粤己酉当制钱十文，于光绪己酉年在广东省局铸造。
