建炎通宝，乃南宋高宗赵构建炎年间（公元1127—1130年）铸币。建炎年间分别铸了元宝、通宝、重宝等三种宝文钱。其继承北宋铸钱之习，亦实行对钱制。书体篆、楷隶三种，材质铜、铁，形制小平到折三。

此藏品为建炎通宝，罕见的篆书小平银钱，十分值得一赏。藏品表面黝黑银质包浆覆盖，紧缚其身，彰显凝重老道之包浆。其浆垢叠嶂之质色，昭然自然天成。钱币铸制精整，厚薄适中，小平形制。其铸相方正圆矩，坦平地章，穿轮皆呈干净之态。其中，面字廓深竣挺拔有度，线条清晰，背廓稍平，略见移范。其整体铸相凸显自然，建炎官炉之作毫无疑问。本品乃一枚较为难得的建炎银钱，尽管体小重微，然亦今所见仍甚少，珍贵自不必言矣。
