光绪元宝是清朝光绪年间流通的货币之一。由湖北两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效。共有十九个省局铸造，除中央户部，地方省所铸铜元，皆在其正面上缘镌写省名。

Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currencies circulated during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Zhidong, governor of Guangdong and Guangdong provinces in Hubei, took the lead in introducing British coin machines to mint silver and copper yuan, which were followed by other provinces. There are nineteen provincial bureaus casting. Except for the central household department, the copper coins cast by local provinces are all inscribed on the upper margin of their fronts.

此两枚一组钱币分别为广东省造光绪元宝和云南省造光绪元宝。两枚钱币正面珠圈内铸有“光绪元宝”四字，上缘铸有省名，下缘铸有币值。背面为蟠龙图。整组钱币雕刻工艺精湛，纹理清晰细腻，龙纹整然有序，线条粗细分明，浮雕感强烈，十分精美细致，极具收藏价值和观赏性。

The two sets of coins are Guangxu Yuanbao made in Guangdong Province and Guangxu Yuanbao made in Yunnan Province. The two coins have four characters of "Guangxu Yuanbao" in the front bead circle, a provincial name on the upper edge and a currency value on the lower edge. On the back is a picture of Panlong. The whole set of coins has exquisite carving technology, clear and delicate texture, orderly dragon patterns, rough and fine lines, strong relief feeling, very exquisite and meticulous, with great collection value and ornamental.

光绪元宝结合了一些满人的文化因素。它是中国近千种近代银币中影响最大的银元品种，也是近代中国币制变革中的一个重要角色。由于它是实物货币，介于人们对贵金属的认可，以及对历史文化强烈的认同感，因此收藏的人不在少数。民间藏友手中只要收集一枚就具有较高的“身价”，其存世量稀少，因而在价值上也显得更为贵重。

Guangxu Yuanbao combines some Manchu cultural factors. It is the most influential variety of the nearly thousand kinds of modern silver coins in China, and also an important role in the reform of modern Chinese currency system. Because it is a real currency, between people's recognition of precious metals, and a strong sense of historical and cultural identity, so there are not a few collectors. As long as one is collected in the hands of folk Tibetan friends, it has a high "value", and its stock is scarce, so it is more valuable in value.
