洋务运动期间，因运动影响到铸币业，两广总督张之洞于光绪十三年委托使英大臣在英国订购全套造币机器，并在广东钱局首铸机制银元和铜元。其后，各省纷纷仿效，购制国外机械铸造银、铜元，共有十九个省局铸造，除中央户部，地方省所铸铜元，皆在其正面上缘镌写省名。包括广东钱局在内，许多造币机均订购自著名的英国伦敦伯明翰造币有限公司。英国大工业的介入，使银币也沾染上西方色彩。钱币正面鲜然可见满汉文化的融合，而钱币背面却明确标示了西方文化的介入。本文主要介绍一枚光绪元宝。
During the Westernization Movement, because of the influence of the movement on the coinage industry, Governor Zhang Zhidong of Guangzhou and Guangzhou commissioned the British minister to order a complete set of coinage machines in the UK in the 13th year of Guangxu, and first minted silver and copper dollars in the Guangdong Money Bureau. Since then, the provinces have followed suit, purchasing foreign machinery casting silver and copper yuan, a total of 19 provincial bureaus casting, in addition to the central household, local provinces casting copper yuan, are in its front upper edge engraved provincial names. Many coins, including the Guangdong Money Bureau, are ordered from the famous London Birmingham Mint Co., Ltd. The intervention of British big industry has also stained silver coins with Western colors. The integration of Manchu and Han cultures can be seen on the front of coins, while the back of coins clearly indicates the intervention of Western cultures. This article mainly introduces a Guangxu Yuan Bao.

此枚云南省造光绪元宝锈色自然，钱币正面珠圈内铸“光绪元宝”，珠圈外上环“云南省造”四字，下环“库平三钱六分”，两侧各有一朵六角花纹装饰。钱币背面珠圈中央为神龙图腾，纹路如刀刻所成，铸造工艺神乎其技，自然纯正，光洁细润。此币虽然经历了岁月的洗礼和历史的沉淀，几经历代的传承和沧桑，但更显其自然和古朴的旧币品相，如今依然保存较为完整。在灯光下散发出淡淡的光泽，极具收藏价值。晚清时期，清政府想收回铸币权，几经周折，存世的光绪元宝为数不多。随着时光的流逝，光绪元宝也大量的遗失。
This Yunnan Guangxu Yuanbao is rusty and natural. The front side of the coin is cast with "Guangxu Yuanbao" in the bead circle, the outer ring with "Yunnan made" in four words, and the lower ring with "Kuping three cents and six cents". Each side has a hexagonal decoration. The center of the bead circle on the back of the coin is the totem of the God dragon. Its grain is like a knife carving. Its casting technology is superb, natural and pure, smooth and fine. Although the currency has undergone the baptism of years and the precipitation of history, and several generations of inheritance and vicissitudes of life, it still shows its natural and primitive features of the old currency, which is still relatively intact today. It emits a light glow under the light, which is of great collection value. In the late Qing Dynasty, the Qing government wanted to recover the coinage right. After several setbacks, there were few Guangxu Yuanbao surviving. With the passage of time, Guangxu Yuanbao also lost a lot.
