光绪三十二年(1906年)，清政府在天津成立户部造币总厂，铸造“光绪元宝”银元和“大清银币”。光绪三十一年(1905年)，云南获得批准设立分厂，厂址于旧宝云局地址上，现今昆明市钱局街，机器设备由德国进口，技术工人从四川调入，祖模系向天津厂请领，于光绪三十三年(1907年)八月铸币完工，开始铸造银币。初铸银币现俗称“老云南”。面值有七钱二分(一元)、三钱六分(五角)、一钱四分四厘(二角)。三个品种后铸背龙图无英文俗称“新云南”。面值有七钱二分(一元)、三钱六分(五角)、一钱四分四厘(二角)、七分二厘(一角)四个品种。

此组新老云南省造光绪元宝库平七钱二分，钱币正面珠圈内钤有光绪元宝，珠圈上钤有云南省造，下钤有币值库平七钱二分，左右两边钤有梅花印，背面珠圈内钤有蟠龙图，左右两边钤有梅花印。没有英文的为“新云南”，有则为“老云南”。整组钱币包浆入骨，熟旧自然，深打字口清楚，流通痕迹明显，属极美品。有巨大的投资价值及收藏价值！
