咸丰重宝是清朝政府为筹款镇压太平军，缓解财政危机，于咸丰三年开铸的大钱。此种铜钱币十分精美，字迹清晰深俊，铜材优良，呈浅红黄色，比同版流通的钱稍大些、厚重些。

此币正面铸有楷书“咸丰重宝”从上而下而右而左直读；钱背上下写有汉文“当十”二字，左右用满文写有钱局的名称。此咸丰重宝版本比较高档，字迹深俊，铜质精良，铸工精细，字体清晰端庄，笔画圆润工整，中间穿正方形孔，在日光的照射下更散发出熠熠光辉。整币纹脉清晰，网格完整。
The front of the coin is coined with the regular script "Xianfeng Chongbao" read directly from top to bottom, right to left, and the back of the coin is written with the Chinese word "Dang Shi" and the name of the Wealth Bureau written in Manchu. This version of Xianfeng Chongbao is relatively high-end, with deep handwriting, fine copper, fine foundry, clear and dignified font, smooth and neat strokes, square holes in the middle, and shining in the sunlight.
