朝珠是清代朝服上佩戴的珠串，形状如同和尚胸前挂的念珠。朝臣，凡文官五品、武官四品以上的，本人及妻室或儿女和军机处、侍卫、礼部、国子监、大常寺、光禄寺、鸿胪寺等所属官员穿着朝服时，才得挂用。它是显示身份和地位的标志之一，平民百姓在任何时候都不许佩挂。
