从“利用通宝”流通时间，看其历史意义。吴三桂举旗反清的主要运作方式有二种，一是武力推进，抢占地盘，扩充势力，二是发行钱币，激活经济，稳定人心。从某种程度上讲，发行钱币比武力推行的意义要大得多。利用通宝生命力最强，从一六七四年起一直到清代中后期，在漫长的两百多年的岁月中，南方各省把它夹杂在大清朝庭的钱币中流通，直至民国初年才停止使用。其流通时间之长，创下了历史上各个起义军和反朝廷的政治集团所发行的钱币之最。本文主要介绍一枚利用通宝。
