晚清时期，外国墨西哥独立后以其丰富的银储藏量和制作银币技术，很快规范制造其国家的银币并投放世界市场，被世人称为鹰洋币，同时中国是其最大的倾销国，因西班牙双柱“本洋”断流，中国尚无银币，其它外国银洋杂乱，这一切都给予鹰洋的介入以可乘之机，经过多个回合的较量，鹰洋因其数量巨大、制做统一、含银量高等原因，成为中国市场上的黑马，终于所向无敌取代“本洋”位置，被公认为贸易“正洋”。本文主要介绍一枚鹰洋币。

此枚墨西哥鹰洋币钱文清晰，保存完好。钱币正面是一只展翅雄鹰，嘴叼长蛇，长蛇尾又与鹰翅相连，单腿立在仙人掌上。钱币上环西班牙文“墨西哥共和国”。钱币背面图案为周围放射长短不一的三十二支光柱的自由帽，三十二支光柱代表全国三十一个州和一个联邦区，自由帽下边缘有十一支光柱。自由帽的帽檐铸有西班牙文“自由”字样。墨西哥一直保持着悠久的铸币传统，这已经成为一种艺术，此枚墨西哥鹰洋币品相完好，钱文轮廓的清晰程度好，具有很高的历史价值、艺术价值和收藏价值。
This Mexican Eagle coin is clear and well preserved. On the front of the coin was a winged eagle, with a long snake in its mouth and a long snake tail connected to the eagle's wings, standing on a cactus with one leg.
