At noon, in the sun-drying field of Yansha Village, Lanhe Town, Nansha District, the entire grassland shimmered with warmth under the intense sunlight. Across the vast plain, countless reddish-brown gambiered gauzes were spread over the greenery, rippling gently in the river breeze like a solidified stream. The wind brushed against the edges of the fabric, shaking off scattered specks of light. At the edge of the grassland, the workers had already begun their day's labor.
The sun climbed to its zenith, transforming the grassland into a flowing sea of crimson gold. Gambiered gauze sun-drying—a trade that lives at the mercy of the weather! In the distance, workers pulled taut a twenty-meter length of silk. With bamboo poles securing its four corners, the fabric spread instantly over the grass, smooth as a mirror, hungrily drinking in every strand of sunlight.
As the setting sun cast molten gold across the sky, the workers began their race to gather the gambiered gauze. They dashed across the field, rolling up the fragrant cloud纱 while layers of clouds crept silently from the Pearl River Estuary, threatening an imminent downpour. Twenty-meter-long silks were swiftly rolled into tubes through coordinated efforts, causing the crimson-gold rivers upon the grassland to vanish rapidly. Just as the last piece was safely stored in the shed, raindrops began drumming rhythmically on the rooftop. "Today’s sunshine has fed these clouds of gauze their fill."
The creation of every piece of gambiered gauze is a delicate dance with nature. Each texture bears the mark of sunlight’s measure and the subtle imprint of the artisan’s hand.
